I haven't been on here for a while and i thought this was a good time since it's been a year now since my surgery.
Some of you will remember that last January I had my triple hindfoot fusion. I'd been suffering with pain for a few years and my walking had become comprimised.
Good news. I have little to no pain now whilst walking and I no longer limp Smile I still have to remember not to over-do things as it's still early days. But I am now back to work ( pet carer and lunchtime supervisor at our local primary school). The operation was a 'biggie' I was in a cast for 16 weeks and the hardest part was not doing anything. But to anyone who is waiting for this operation or similar, it has been life changing for me...One little blip though, is I'm now suffering more with my wrists, but I'm not trying to think too hard about them YET

Take care everyone Wub

Hi Kelly

Good to see you posting and what an excellent result! Glad to hear you have returned to work and things are looking so positive for you. Hope the wrists don't prove to be too problematical; do ask for x-rays if things deteriorate!
All the best,

Lyn x

Hi Kelly,

Nice to hear from you!! I`m glad the operation was a success - 16 weeks in a cast sounds awful. I hope your wrists feel better soon.

Take care,

Kathleen x

Hi Kelly,

I'm so pleased that things went well for you. Your wrists are probably much worse because I bet you had to use your hands and wrists much more for weight bearing when you were off your feet. Hopefully they will improve soon and don't prove to be too troublesome. If its any help I find that when my feet and hips are giving me loads of gip and I need to put more pressure on my walking stick my wrists and elbows get much worse...

Good luck Caroline.

So pleased you have relief for your feet.

With the wrists, I highly recommend getting both working and resting splints. I couldn't do without them. They can be sort of comforting as well as supportive. )My wrists have always been the main culprits.)
